Guided path

Run your first task

Choose a workspace, create one clear task, complete it, and confirm the result.

Solo & partneredAbout 5 minutes, plus task timeSolo owner, Tasker, or Taskee

This walkthrough follows one complete SubTasks task loop in either a Solo Workspace or a partnered relationship. Start small with one clear, reversible task. In a partnership, talk about what the task asks before either person acts. Tasker and Taskee are responsibilities inside a partnered relationship; a Solo owner manages and completes their own tasks.

Step 1 of 4

Choose the workspace

Start in the Solo Workspace or accepted partnership where the task belongs.

Tasker

Open Partners and select the accepted relationship for this task. If you still need to connect, choose the add button, Invite Partner, and agree on the Dom / Tasker and Sub / Taskee responsibilities before the invitation is accepted.

Taskee

Open Partners and select the accepted relationship for this task. If you are accepting a new invitation, confirm that Sub / Taskee matches what you agreed to do before accepting it.

Solo

Open Partners and select your Solo Workspace. New accounts already have one, so you do not need to invite anyone or create a paired relationship before making a task.

A Solo Workspace is a complete place to create, complete, and track your own tasks; no partner is required.

Only the partnered path needs an invitation and role choice. Solo users skip this dialog.

Step 2 of 4

Create one clear task

Use a small first task with a finish you can recognize.

Tasker

Choose Create New Task. Add a specific title, a realistic due expectation, and any points you agreed on. You may turn on Require validation when your plan has an allowance available, then choose Create Task. Tell your partner what a successful completion looks like.

Taskee

Read the task before starting. Check the timing, points, and any note or proof requirement. Ask for clarification or a change if the task is unclear, impossible, or no longer fits what you agreed to.

Solo

Choose Create New Task. Add a specific title, a realistic due expectation, and any points you want the task to award, then choose Create Task. Solo tasks complete directly, so Require validation is not part of this path.

Create Task form focused on the Basics section and task title field.
Start with a specific title and only the settings this first task needs.
Task options showing the Require validation switch enabled.
In a partnered relationship, Require validation can send the completion to the Tasker for review. Solo tasks skip this setting.

Step 3 of 4

Complete the task

Complete the task and submit only the information it actually requires.

Tasker

Let the Taskee complete the task without changing its requirements midstream. If something needs to change, discuss it and update the task before the next attempt. With validation off, completion awards points directly; with it on, the task waits for your review.

Taskee

Open the task, follow the stated requirements, and mark it complete. Add a note or proof only when the task requires it. With validation off, completion awards points directly; with it on, the completion waits for Tasker review.

Solo

Open the task, follow the requirements you set, and mark it complete. Add a note or proof only when the task requires it. The task completes directly and awards its points without waiting for a partner review.

Choose Done to submit the completion. Notes, ratings, and photo proof are optional here unless the task explicitly requires them.
A synthetic task card labeled Awaiting approval after the Taskee submitted it.
This optional partnered validation path shows Awaiting approval. Solo completions do not enter this queue.

Step 4 of 4

Confirm the result

Check the completed state and points; use review only when the partnered task required it.

Tasker

If validation was on, open Pending Review, compare the submission with the stated requirement, and choose Approve or Reject. If validation was off, confirm the task completed and the expected points were awarded. Acknowledge the result with your partner outside the app too.

Taskee

Confirm that the task shows complete and that the expected points were awarded. If it was waiting for validation, check the Tasker's decision against the original requirements and discuss any surprise together.

Solo

Confirm that the task shows complete and that the Points balance increased by the task value. Open Stats when you want to review the activity later; there is no partner-review handoff in Solo.

Tasks grouped under Pending Review with one completion waiting for a decision.
Only partnered tasks with validation enabled wait in Pending Review. Solo tasks finish directly.
Validation review sheet with Approve and Reject actions.
Review the completion against the task's stated requirements, then approve or reject it.

You’re done when

The task shows complete and its points were awarded. In Solo, that closes the app loop directly. In a partnered relationship with validation enabled, the Tasker also made the review decision and both people can see the result. Completing a task records the action; it does not replace the conversations and choices that keep partnered arrangements voluntary.
